What Ienoa works with

Ienoa uses public standards and the local interfaces your devices already offer — it never modifies your devices or their data.

Matter

Open standard

On/off, dimming, status
Needs
Connected through HomeBox. Devices already in Apple Home, Google Home or Alexa can be shared in directly. Thread devices need a Thread border router

Apple HomeKit

Can do
On/off, dimming, status, camera view
Needs
Devices already in the Home app; read with your permission

ECHONET Lite

Japanese appliance standard

Air conditioners, floor heating, fuel cells, storage batteries, lighting and more

Can do
On/off, mode, temperature, status and generation
Needs
Devices connected to your home network

Energy gateway

AiSEG2-compatible

Lights, floor heating and fuel cells managed by the gateway, plus energy statistics

Can do
On/off, status, energy use
Needs
Sign in with the gateway's own device code (機器コード)

ONVIF / RTSP

Open standard

Network cameras

Can do
Live view, pan/tilt, talk, snapshots
Needs
Through HomeBox, with the camera on the same network

SIP / RTP

Indoor unit's local interface

Apartment intercom indoor units

Can do
Visitor alerts, video, talk, opening the lobby door
Needs
Register on the indoor unit; supported models are limited

Android TV remote

Android TV / Google TV

Smart TVs

Can do
Remote control
Needs
Same Wi-Fi; enter the 6-digit code shown on the TV

IPP

Open standard

Network printers

Can do
Ink and paper status
Needs
Same Wi-Fi

If a device supports more than one protocol (for example, a light that supports both Matter and HomeKit), Ienoa connects through one of them and never lists it twice.

What you need

A home in Japan

With at least one of the devices above, on the same home network as your phone.

HomeBox

For notifications and using Ienoa away from home. A small program on an always-on computer at home; we help you set it up.

An iPhone

iOS 18 or later. An Android version is in the works.

How Ienoa connects

01

Public standards first

Appliances over ECHONET Lite, printers over IPP, intercom calls over SIP / RTP, cameras over ONVIF / RTSP, smart-home devices over Matter and HomeKit — each built from the published specification.

02

Only what your devices already allow

For the energy gateway and the intercom, Ienoa uses the local interface the device itself offers on your home network. It can do the same things as the device's own screen or remote — nothing more.

03

No modification

No firmware changes, no altered protocols, no rewritten device data, and device authentication is never bypassed.

04

Your network only

At home your phone controls devices directly over your Wi-Fi. Away, everything goes through your own HomeBox, encrypted end to end.
